Pure numbers

The Steinway & Sons CDP-1 is a pure CD player based on an audio optical disc drive. Data is accurately read from the disc and transmitted digitally without loss to the Steinway processor, and then further digitally to the Steinway amplifier. The complete analog-to-digital conversion is performed internally within the power amplifier driving the speakers, at the forefront of the process. This ensures the purest and clearest sound quality.

Intuitive automatic control

The CDP-1 offers multiple operating methods. A knob on the front allows for direct track selection and playback. The player also comes with a remote control. It can also be operated via the Steinway & Sons CDP-1. The Steinway & Sons SP-1 processor includes autoplay functionality for CD input, as well as the ability to operate the SP-1 using the iconic gold Steinway & Sons remote control. An RS-232 input interface supports external control.

Elegant and slim design

As the CDP-1 is a pure optical disc drive, its aluminum casing is extremely slim and elegant, measuring only 4.9 cm/1.9 inches in height. This allows the CDP-1 to be easily integrated into furniture or concealed system racks.
